Every day, people throw away lots of rubbish. This causes serious environmental pollution.Where does all the rubbish go and what happens to it?
Most of rubbish goes into “landfills”. Though we do not know exactly where all these landfills are, they are close to where we live. People hardly believe that most of the cities in China are surrounded by rubbish. Putting this rubbish in landfills takes up too much space. So we have another way to get rid of rubbish—burning.
